Frustrated and Confused

I've had very light spotting for the past few days. I'm not exactly sure when AF is due because all of my cycles prior to May were 28 days. My last cycle was 21 days long. The spotting began on CD23. I supposedly ovulated on CD 13. My last AF started on June 1. I took a $ store test this morning and it was negative. Should I continue testing? If so, for how long?How long should I wait for AF before I freak out? BTW I just started FF this cycle and I'm still getting used to it so my chart stinks [it's not attached]. Thanks ladies!

I would test once a week until + test, AF or CD 60. If you reach CD 60, call your obgyn. And remember, everyone has a few wonky cycles every now and then! And no matter how ugly, people around here always love to stalk charts.

AF would be typically due between 12-16 days after ovulation. If you ovulated on day 13/June 13, AF would be expected between June 25 and June 30.  The spotting could be due to dropping progesterone levels as AF approaches. 

Without charts to look at to confirm, it's always possible that you haven't really ovulated yet.  Some women spot around ovulation.

With the spotting beginning 10 days after ovulation, that could also be implantation spotting.  As far as how long to wait it out, 18 DPO is recognized by most charting s/w as pregnant so anything after that would be ideal for testing.

at 13dpo it's possible you are getting a false neg but it's also possible your cycle is longer this month. I had this last month and thought I must be pregnant but it turns out my cycle was just longer than I thought. Hopefully it's the first case though!
