Cloth Diapering

getting daycare onboard

HI Ladies

DH and I are really wanting to CD our baby but are unsure about how to get our daycare provider on board.  It is an in home daycare with 6 children, but none have been CD'd before.

Any direction you could point me in to help her out would be fantastic, thanks!

Re: getting daycare onboard

  • I just got my daycare on board.  The easier you make it for them the better.

I got Thirsties Duo Diapers for daycare.  They are sleeve diapers.  I adjust the rise and the diapers have the aplix fasteners so they don't have to remember the snap levels. I stuff all the diapers, so they are ready to use.  I deliver a wetbag each day for them to throw in and take it home with me at pick up.

When you tell a daycare provider you use cloth diapers, they are envisioning prefolds or even the older flat diapers that require folding and safety pins. If you bring them an example of what you expect them to use, they'll get the picture.

  • Definately bring one to show them and use "easy" diapers for daycare. I ahve a whole seperate set of diapers for DC. We use BG 4.0 with aplix. super easy - i send a wetbag every day for them to put dirties in. Don't ask them to shake off poo (like you have to when they start solids, and don't expect them to take out the insert. take care of all of that when you get home. It's not too bad.

  • Thanks for the ideas ladies, I didnt even think to bring one for our meeting in a few weeks, I will definitely do that!

    wish me luck!
