Kawaii brand - WDYT?

Hello ladies. I am new to the board and to CD. I found your FAQs to be most helpful. I am currently shopping for some gently used CD to get my collection started. I have found a set of Kawaii CD for a pretty good price and was wondering if any of you have used them. If so, WDYT of that brand? The ones I am looking at are AIO, if that helps.

Any other advice about CD is welcome. TIA.

Re: Kawaii brand - WDYT?

  • Kawaii's don't make an AIO that I know of. I believe they are all pockets.

I have some Kawaii and love them. My favorite are the Mom Label Bamboos. They are a little more expensive then the other Kawaii's. I also have some Heavy Duty with Aplix. They work good as well.

  • I'm sorry, you are right; the description says, "just like an AIO when stuffed." Thank you for your feedback. Smile

  • I've got a bunch of heavy duty. They're good. Just know they're cheap new, so they need to be ultra-cheap used.
  • I use Alva Baby and have been told that they are the ones that make the Kawaii diapers (still not sure if that info is accurate). Anyway if they are the same or not they are extremely similar and I love them. They are very good for the price you pay for them. My friend has Kawaii's and she loves them too. Just make sure they have hip snaps. I am unsure if they sell ones without them, but if they do just make sure they have the hip snap, just my opinion. I am still very new to cd so I am only going on the brief experience I have and the experience of my cd friends.

Thank you! I have discovered that they are remarkably cheaper than other CDs that I've looked at. I will definitely keep that in mind while shopping. Have you used the "goodnight heavy wetter" for overnight?

  • I don't think Kawaii and Alvababy are the same company.

I agree if you are buying used, they need to be pretty cheap.  I don't believe the snazzy minkies have hip snaps, but I haven't had any issues with those because they don't have hip snaps. I have used the goodnight heavy wetter and love it as long as it is in snaps. The aplix in those leave horrible red marks in DD's legs. The snazzy minky ones in aplix do the same (but she does have very chunky thighs).

I haven't, but they're all pretty close to the same. Mine are aplix, and it hasn't been a problem at all on DS. He's still pretty little, though. I don't think any Kawaii have hip snaps, so no idea what pp was going on about.

Don't pay more than $5 if they've been used at all; the heavy-wetters go for ~$7.75 new.

  • You should also look on youtube. Jack be natural has a video posted about the kinds of Kawaii's. It really helped me.

  • I have a couple that I've tried out. My problem is a fit problem- I have a long skinny baby and she doesn't fill out the leg holes. :( I have had great luck with Bumgenius, Blueberry, and BabyKicks diapers- same kind of diapers, more pricey, though.

  • I have the original and the overnight and love them. I also have a minky bamboo that I don't care for because DS can't be in natural fibers without getting red.
