Trying to Get Pregnant

diagnosis is in.....

and I have hashimoto diease. i know sounds like an asian delicacy (LOL) but its actually an autoimmune diease, where my body is attacking my thyroid- giving me a low functioning thyroid- therefor making it difficult to get pregnant.

so any of you ladies have this ????

I've been on the medication for 3 weeks now- not really feeling any different- how long did it take you to feel "normal" like more energy, not cold all the time or less joint pain????

going back to Endo and OBGYN in august to re check all my hormone levels- cross your fingers that i get it under control by then?!?!?

Re: diagnosis is in.....

  • So sorry to hear this.  I'm glad you have some answers though, and at least know what's wrong.  I hope everything will be in control come August! ((hugs))

  • I've had it for 9 years.  The way you feel changes over time.  We've been TTC for 9 months and no luck yet, but as my Doc says, call your endo as soon as you get pregnant before you call you mom.  Your levels must be monitored from the very beginning!  Good luck to you!

  • I have Hashimoto's and I also have Grave's disease (and I had thyroid cancer... my thyroid was a barrel of fun!).  It takes about 2 weeks for the medicine you are taking today to affect you (if you are taking Levoxyl or synthroid), so it's not that surprising that you don't feel any difference yet.  However, hopefully your endo has you scheduled for more bloodwork soon to confirm that they have you on the right dosage.
