Cooking question, help please

Ok, so I do not cook AT ALL, DH is a wonderful cook and LOVES to cook. Well, I am trying to make zucchini bread with some freash zucchini from our garden and the recipe calls for cooking oil.....ummm, Silly question but....what oil is that? Olive oil or another type of oil? See how bad I am...hahahahaha, lets pray I don't burn the loaf of bread! hahaha

I'd go with vegetable oil, canola oil, or corn oil.

All of the above. I prefer vegetable oil myself.

  • I would say canola or veggie oil pass as cooking ... although I usually use olive just because we keep it on hand

  • I love olive oil in everything but it might come out a little rich and moist unless you use canola or something. I stick with canola because a friend it allergic to soy and the number one ingredient in veggie oil is soy bean oil.

I always use vegetable or canola oil as "cooking oil."

    This.

The reason these are cooking oils is because they don't really have a 'taste'.  Olive oil is pretty flavourful so if you put that in vread or muffins it would give it a distinct olive oil taste - probably not what you're going for.
