New to cloth diapering and no idea where to start! Help please!!

Hello! My name is Kelly and my husband and I are expecting our first child. We still have a ways to go, but we think we would like to cloth diaper. Actually I would like to more so than him, but he's fine with doing whatever. I have heard that it is better for the baby, and more cost effective, and obviously better for the environment. I know it will involve extra work, and I'm okay with that, but I don't even know where to start to learn about it and find out how to get started. Can anyone help me with where to start? What might be some good books or websites that I could use as resources? I've heard from my month board that you are all very helpful and knowledgeable, so thank you in advance for your help!

I sent you a PM.  It's a summary I wrote up for some of my friends that wanted to consider CDing.  Some of it is specific to my area, but it has a good summary in it. GL

We actually just did disposables at first and then did a trial from Jillian's drawers to see what we liked before committing to anything. However, I don't think they do newborn and so if I were to do it again I would just get prefolds, snappis, and a cover for newborn size and then do the trial.
