Got my first AF since baby, and I still have 1 week left of my birth control before I am "supposed to get a period." (e.g., before the week of sugar pills). What do I do? Do I continue to take my pills as I normally would even though I got AF? Do I stop taking the pills, wait for AF to end, and start a new month of pills? I'm just not sure if this is going to screw up a monthly cycle.
I will have to admit... I was REALLY hoping AF would wait a lot longer before making an appearance!!! Ugh!!!
TIA for your help!!
Re: First AF, still 1 week left of BC. Keep taking the pills?

If you don't want to get pregnant, take your pills.
And I talk to my pharmacist for questions like this. Honestly, they're far more knowledgeable about drugs than doctors are, and tend to be easier to access. You might be able to skip the sugar pills and just continue on to the next pack.

I called in and talked to the nurse of my OB. She indicated that there may be breakthrough bleeding, and to continue on my pills as normal. I just didn't know if getting AF in the middle of a pack of pills would affect future cycles.
Thanks for the help though!!
