So my sitter just disappeared off of FB... like she deleted her account.

I haven't talked to her since the middle of May, but was planning to have her come help me with childcare for a bit after baby #2.  Last I heard, she was having trouble with her program requirements in school and was planning to visit her mom over summer break.

What would be a good reason for just deleting your account?  Think this means it's time for me to find a new sitter?

Hmmm...do you have an email address for her?  You could email her and mention that you don't see her on FB anymore, and ask if she's still interested in helping you out.

I do have her e-mail and phone number.  I just thought it was weird to delete a FB with no warning...

Or is it?  Is that common and I just didn't know it?

My 16-year-old nephew deleted his with no warning. He got tired of the drama and decided it had no value for him. I thought it was actually a really mature decision. Maybe she got a virus from it and decided just to get rid of it. Maybe she has someone stalking or bothering her. I wouldn't read into it. I'd just e-mail her to check in.

This makes sense...  I'm sitting here thinking, drug addict!  Or alien abduction!  Jk, jk.  Your interpretations are a little better off.  I am still a bit worried, but I will contact her and hopefully everything is ok!

I have had a few friends delete their accounts for a while.

Yeah, I've had friends delete their account for no reason other than a break from the drama/addiction.  I wouldn't be too concerned.

It's weird, but I wouldn't necessarily think that anything was going on that would keep her from being your sitter. Could be any number of reasons.

I'd just ask.
