Food Allergy

Elimination Diet and change in LO's poop

So Brady is completely off all the top foods for allergies and now I noticed he is pooping NON stop and it more runny (sorry TMI) and I am wondering if this is related. Before I took him off all these items he more smaller almost like round pellets when he went (pedi called them rabbit poops).

Anyone's child have change in poop after changing his/her diet?

  • i don't remember a change in poop.  Did you start eating something new maybe? it could be a coincidence and he's teething?

Nothing new really other than the gluten free/diary free cookies but he hardly has any of those. Teething, nope!

fever?  my son always has a runny poop with a fever.. but you've been through this already so i know you know :)..  Poop has a lot to do with allergies but you're dismissing many foods so it doesn't make any sense.. his poops should be getting better (i never though i would have so many poop conversations 2 years ago lol).

wondering what others will say. Unless your LO was constipated and by changing a diet it made things "better" so he can now go?  Wish i was more helpful.

  • Not my child, but myself. It's an adjustment to his gut/intestines and what's happening now is actually a good thing. The rabbit pellets weren't good... now that the allergens have been removed his body needs to sort of "flush" and "regrow" good bacteria in his gut. I bet in a week or two you'll see the loose stools subside and a more normal consistency follows.
