I usually am not very bothered by weight comments...especially when I'm pregnant but for some reason they are really getting to me this time. I gained 35 lbs with Teagan and lost all but I think 5 or 6 lbs of it. I am 20 wks today with baby #2 and at my last ckup had only gained 7 so far. So many people lately have been making comments like "I swear you are carrying twins" or "WOW I can't believe how big you are already" or just a little while ago someone said to me "WOW you look as big now as you did the day you went into labor with your 1st". I just wanted to cry. What are people thinking saying comments about weight to a pregnant woman whose emotions are high?!
Re: Vent: Why don't people think before they speak?!
Aww - I'm sorry. But I do think it's important to note that they are talking about the size of your belly - not the size of your a$$
And typically - you show sooner with your second pregnancy because your core isn't as tight as it was pre baby#1.
But yeah - I would never ever tell anyone they looked huge. Dumbos. I'm sure you look great!
I was WAY bigger the 2nd time around.. I only gained about 5lbs more but i was just BIGGER.

Eve Amelia- Born 2/24/09. 6lb 9.9oz
Natalie Ruth - Born 6/13/11 7lb 6.6oz
I didn't even start to show naked until 4 months last time. I am already showing (at least to me and DH) clothed and have been wearing a jacket to work in this heat just so there is no moment my co-workers will see me without a jacket or my white coat on. Luckily, the white coat hides a lot and I could probably go another few months without them catching on. It is such a difference that if I hadn't already had ultrasounds, I would be questioning myself if I was having twins.
But try not to take it too much to heart. People have no idea what pregnant bellies 20 weeks vs 30 weeks vs 40 weeks look like. And I think especially other women have a skewed view of how they looked when pregnant. I know I was shocked when I was looking back at photos when I was pregnant and was like Wow, my face looks swollen, when even at the time I had no clue bc it happened gradually.
I gained LESS the 2nd time around, but still looked bigger & looked huge much earlier on.
That doesn't give people an excuse to say things like that though! Jerks.

wow- people are super rude...and you are being a trooper for putting up with it...have you had a chance to make some snappy comeback?
I'm usually pretty bold w/o pregnancy hormones but if people were saying that to me- it would get real ugly...
I'm sorry people are being dumb@sses
