Trying to Get Pregnant

So fustrated with Military Nurses ughhhhhh (vent and long)

So a couple weeks ago I posted a questions about weather I should go on CD 22 for a progesterone test my OBGYN put in for or on 7DPO because at CD 22 I knew I would only be like 2 or 3 days past O.  You guys recommended I go on 7DPO and to also try talking to the hospital to see what they say.

Well, I called them a few times was transferred to the Nurses station every time, and every time they were not there so I left a voice mail.  A couple weeks goes by and no return calls from them!   Today is CD 23 and I have no clue where my O is....maybe it missed it's flight?  But I once again tried calling the OBGYN office and explained to the receptionist that every time I called I get transferred and never end up talking to a nurse and no one called me back.  She was really nice and went out looking for a nurse for me to talk to....that was the only good part of the phone call.

I finally am talking to a nurse and explain my situation and she's like "are you sure the doc said CD 22 it's usually CD 21 for that test".....Uh ya I'm sure I'm not that stupid Confused In fact the doc told me if CD 22 fell on a Sunday because they are closed to come in a day early or a day late that 1 day didn't matter.  I then go on to explain I haven't even O'd yet and the whole point of the test is to test my progesterone AFTER ovulation.  I asked what I should do since I haven't O'd yet and she says "Well this isn't really in my spectrum of knowledge so I suggest coming in anyway to take the test and doing a follow up with your OBGYN"  Hmm Uh if you don't know anything about how the female cycles work why are you working in the OBGYN office as a nurse?

So ya I'm going in today to take a test on CD 23 to measure progesterone for after ovulation.  Is it me or does that make no damn sense what so ever?  If you made it this far I applaud and thank you!   END VENT.

  • I agree with you...that makes zero sense. Sorry you have to deal with this situation. FX that maybe they can get something worthwhile out of your app!

  • Oh wow, that sounds soooo frustrating! It never ceases to amaze me at how little the medical profession seems to know about how our bodies work. Sorry you are dealing with this!

  • GL!! I was actually at my RE's office on Friday and the nurse said she was going to draw blood for my progesterone. I questioned it, as I had an appointment to come in for it this week, which would be after I ovulated. At the time, I was pretty sure I was ovulating on Friday, but obviously you never know what will happen. Well, they tested, and then called me back that afternoon to tell me there was no evidence of ovulation yet. Well, duh! I told you that. Turns out by my temps, I did ovulate last Friday, went in yesterday and b/w confirmed O. Frustating that I need an extra needle poke, when I couldn't told them it would do no good! Hopefully you can get it sorted out!

  • That's really frustrating. I'm so sorry you can't seem to talk to anyone knowledgeable.
