mastitis?

So last night started with me freezing so bad I was shaking out of control. Then an hour later I was sweating sp bad and on fire. I had a 100 fever. Also my right boob had been hurting more and more as the day went on. Then in the middle of the night I started throwing up. I don't see any red marks on my boob but it is hot. I have been taking motrin and it helps a little. Does this sound like mastitis? Oh and I am achy all over.

Yes. Sounds exactly like it. I just got over mastitis myself, and this exact thing happened to me.

Dangit! Well I have left a message with the dr office already. How long did it take for you to feel better?

yes that sounds like mastitis. i got mastitis two weeks ago. i am sorry you are going through this. but i would not wait for the doctors office to call you back. i would go to the doctors as a walk in patient. because you need to get antibotics and mastitis get worst with time. and breastfeed or pump a lot to help.

I had the same thing happen last weekend.  My left breast hurt all day, but no swelling, blockage, or red marks.  That night I got achy and chills and I had a 100.6 fever.  I took ibuprofen that night and massaged my breast, did hot compresses, fed LO a lot and pumped.  I planned to call my OB if I had issues the next day, but when I woke up, I was fine.  My breast still hurt a little to the touch the next day, but all other symptoms were gone.

Yep sounds like it. I had a 103 fever. I started feeling better 2 days after startin antibiotics.

Similar situation here - last tuesday I was shivering I was so cold, then I was sweating like crazy because I was so hot.  Took my temp and it was 102, so I took some tylenol and the fever went down.  I felt a ton better after that.  My boob was super red though so I made an appt with my OB and got some antibiotics.  I have to take them for 10 days, but the worst of it was over within a couple days.

Yes, you described it exactly. I was so tired I had to sit down in the shower then had the chills so much my entire body was shaking and I couldn't get warm. My temp was 102.5. My boobs were sore but I didn't see any streaks although my breasts were warm. My OB prescribed antibiotics for 10 days. My symptoms went away after about 2 days.
