Sorry if this is a stupid question, but when you use OPKs do you see them get progressively darker each day before you get a positive?
I am asking because my CBEFM is saying I am in high fertility but OPKs are currently negative (second line does not even appear), so there has been no LH surge for me yet.
I am going away on a work trip on Monday - Tuesday, and am worried that I will miss my surge, as my OPKs results are 'so negative'.
Could I go from a white second line to a dark/darker than control line in a matter of days? The name 'surge' suggests it's quick, but I'd appreciate your experiences.
Thanks in advance, and apologies once more if the question is elementary.
Re: OPK question - do they get progressively darker?
GL to you!
This! I NEVER got any sort of fade in or anything that remotely looking positive. Digital gives me MUCH more confidence in timing.
TTC #1 since October 2010 | Began Testing in January 2012
DH SA - low motility with 0% morph; varicocele (repaired); low T (on Clomid)
IVF w/ICSI (long Lupron w/ Repronex and Follistim) in September 2012
Mine do gradually get darker, though if you're curious about what's going on I would agree with PP and get some digital tests - they really take the guesswork out of this kind of thing.
FWIW, my tests were stark white yesterday morning, but by this morning the second line was almost as dark as the control. From my experience, yes it can happen very quickly
Some ladies have a very short surge too, so it's possible that it could be positive for less than 24 hours.
