Does your almost 2 year old have a water gun?

We are not big toy gun people and don't own any at the house. However, I am trying to come up with some water games for a HOT August outdoor bday party. So we are thinking water balloons and water guns.

Are there any water guns that are easy enough for younger kids to shoot? Most kids will be older than DS.

My nephew had some at his 3rd birthday party a couple weeks ago. DS could only shoot it if it was pointed at himself with his thumb, but the 3 yr old could handle them just fine. And they were just the small, cheap dollar store water guns.

I got one for DS yesterday from Hobby Lobby. It's easy enough for him to use. I was really shocked that it was b/c it was originally 99 cents, but was 40% off so it was only 59 cents in the end!

 If anything, kids usually love to just run through the sprinkler!

What about a squirt bottle?  I am still unsure about allowing DS to play with fake guns, but he loves to use squirt bottles.
