DH and I went to the urologist today and finally got an answer: Low testosterone. His levels were at 287. The Dr said the "normal" range is 280-800, but for my DH's age (23) he would like to see him at 400. He starts clomid tonight (25mg per day) for 30 days and then we'll do another SA.
I was hoping to get some input for any ladies who DH's are or were on clomid. Any side effects? Everything I read online says possible side effects are increased energy, sex drive, and muscle mass. Let's say DH was pretty excited to get that little pill down. lol
My biggest question is how did it effect the SA after your DH was on it? My DH had zero sperm in the SA from January and also the one that was done today. Is there a chance the numbers could go up enough to do IUI? Or is it best to plan for IVF with ICSI if there is any improvement?
DH talked to the nurse so I had no chance to ask any questions about what the outcome might be after the 30 days.

TTC Journey Over~ Not By Choice
My husband is still on clomid from a year ago. He hasn't had any side effects, except constant joking that he is on a female medication and that he should be ovulating regularly now. His testosterone HAS increased to a normal level. His sperm count and motility also increased, but unfortunately not enough to get pregnant on our own.
Good luck!

DH had high FSH and tow T (199 I think). He is on 25mg of Clomid 3 times a week.
Increased Energy=yes (but he was also hypothyroid and is now on Sinthroid.)
Increased Sex Drive= yes
Increased Muscle Mass= sadly no
We also have the issue of what we call "Clomid Moments". DH will act irrationally for a moment, I give him a look, and apologizes. It isn't him, he is hormonal so occasionally he has an outburst that is dumb. ( For example, we have a small kitchen and he huffed and puffed one night that there were too many people in the kitchen. But I was the one making dinner.
)
DH has been on Clomid since November. His FSH and T are normal and his count went from 0 to 60,000. I hope this information helps.
Hi Beach,
DH was on it for 3 months (along with Arimidex which isn't the norm) but it made him feel great and he even lost weight (I of course found it on my thighs but that is another story ...lol) We are having our SA today so I will post how that goes (OK - he is having his SA - maybe the we part is a bit of a stretch). I have met and spoken to another of women you have had a lot of success with this therapy. I know there are a couple of women on the board who have had success as well.
Good luck
