wants door open all the sudden?

DS has always slept with his door shut...recently I have traveled 2 times and was away for 5 days once and a weekend once...DS had a hard time and was really missing me...I also think he is having a peak of seperation anxiety b/c he usually goes down to bed with no peep and he was been crying like crazy asking me to sit in the chair and like panicked screaming. So, I opened up his door and he is falling asleep in there just fine now. Our house is super small and his room is right on the middle of our main traffic areas...I am trying not to make a lot of noise but I guess this i just a phase and I'm going with it...he doesn't seem to mind us moving around...anyone else's LO do ths? Does your LO sleep with door open or shut?

We sleep with our doors open.  When my daughter use to nap in her room I would close the door once she was asleep just to keep her room quiet.  Our bedrooms are at the end of our hallway, but both bathrooms are back there too.  My daughter never use to sleep with a night light until about 6 months ago.  Now she has to have 2 of them on.  I even had to leave her lamp on one night to get her to fall asleep.

She used to close it herself, but now it must be all the way open, and we have to leave the bathroom light on. Regardless, we keep a gate in the doorway so she can't escape.

We keep the doors closed because the cats are not allowed in the bedrooms.
