Trying to Get Pregnant

Frustrating (No AF/BFN)

Just needed to get it off my chest somewhere, so I thought there might be someone here in the same place right now.  I just can't get it off my mind.  I should have started today, but I didn't.  Of course I tested this morning and was disappointed.  Ugh.

"I should have started today" usually indicates that you are basing this on cycle length. Do you know when you ovulated? That's the only way to know (through temping, charting or monitoring) when you should expect AF and it can vary from cycle to cycle. It is actually rare that a woman stay the exact same cycle length every month. Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It will give you the info you need to help you avoid this kind of confusion and frustration.

Also, the bump tickers like yours are essentially useless for this reason. I hope it's just too early to test accurately because you Oed later.

Yes, I am obviously new to all of this, so sorry if this post came off as annoying to those of you that are more informed about this.  :)  I just posted earlier this week about ordering TCOYF and am anxious to read it.  I have been charting on FF, but only my cycle days and just this past cycle used OPKs (wondfo), which I had a hard time reading.  So, for this next cycle I plan on using the Clearblue digital ones and temping.  I have had a 27 day cycle for the past 4 months, but I'm not sure of my actual O date.

Not irritating at all! I am just trying to help you see the reason why hope is not lost yet and point you in the right drection. It sounds like you're on your way there and I hope things get easier from here on out. Sorry if my reply unintentionally came across otherwise.

  • Hey!! I'm brand new to the Bump and brand new to this board. I've been kind of checking different boards out and saw this post. I'm in the same boat!

My cycle for the past 4mos has been 33-34 days. The longest it's ever been in a year has been 35 days. I'm on day 35 now, have has some minor symptoms (although they all could be in my head), but I tested this morning and got a BFN... I've decided to wait until Sat. morning. If I haven't started AF by then, I'm going to re-test. I've charted my O on some different websites... some told me the 7th, others told me the 10th, so we tried both a bit before and on both days. They say that you should wait to test until 14 days after O, so today would be day 14 for me if I O'd on the 7th, but still no AF and still a BFN. I'm thinking either I O'd late or it just didn't happen again this month.

I understand your frustration!! Hopefully waiting it out will be beneficial for both of us!! I'm going to intro myself on this board and join in with everyone (if that's okay) and I'd love to see an update!! :)

     Good Luck!! :)

  • I understand how frustrating it can be, good luck with everything and I hope this is your BFP!  Just think on the brightside, if its not you are going to learn so much about your body this month! :)

  • I'm in the same boat!  But I haven't started charting yet since this is the first real month we are TTC...though I went off BCP in April.  I thought we would give it 1-2 months before starting to chart.  Well if I have a 28 day cycle, AF was due on June 12 (11 days ago!)  No AF...no BFP.  I took 4 tests last week...all BFNs.  The last test I took was on Saturday June 19 (AF 1 week late).  I know the issue is I probably just O'ed late...had some major cramping on June 11 (thought it was AF since she was due) but nothing.  I am assuming that was ovulation...so now it is a waiting game.  Either AF, BFP, or 60 days of nothing.  I am going to test again this weekend.  Good luck!!
