Do any of you do this? Do you notice a big difference in your house? We got a flyer in the mail about having a switch installed to cycle off the a/c unit and hot water heater during demand peaks. We get a small credit on our electric bill for signing up and help out the environment a bit at the same time. Any experiences to share?

Re: Cycling off A/C?
We thought about this, but decided against it. We have a dog that's home all day and we didn't want her to be super hot if they turned the a/c off. Now I don't know how it works, but what happens if one of the kids is sick and your home. If they turn the a/c off can you manually turn it back on?
We didn't look any further into it after we thought about Koda.
This is one area where I feel like a TEA partier or something.
No way would I do this. My AC is my AC, dagnabit, and I want to be in control of it at all times. Plus I'd think it would have to work extra hard to cool the house back down after cycling off. I help the environment in other ways, not my fault the utility can't keep up with power demands.
(I'm being a smartmouth mostly, but really, we thought about it and wouldn't do it)
Ohhh, you and that smart mouth of yours!
