Trying to Get Pregnant

Confusing temp. and monitor this morning

So I am new to tempting and this is my second cycle using a CBEFM. Well yesterday the CBEFM said I was going to O. But then it asked me to retest this morning and gave me an O sign again. I know most likely I will O within 24-28 hours from the first O yesterday but usually after it gives you one O sign it doesn't ask you to keep testing it just leaves you at Peak for 2 days. Thought it was odd it asked me to test again today. Anyway have experience with that? I also have been taking my temp. at 6 a.m. every morning. This morning before I got up out of bed I took my temp and it said it was like 96 degrees or something. I got up and fed the dog and just thought that was a really low temp. so I took my temp again and it said like 97.8. I was confused on which to enter but kept the 96 temp since that's what I first got before I moved or did anything. That's the temp. straight out of bed. I have been using the temp. that I get right when I wake up before I do anything. That's correct right? Little things you do like feeding the dog can cause your temp to change. The one you get when you first wake up is the most accurate correct? Sorry for the long write up just a little confused this morning. However, I did feel O pain all day yesterday and now it's gone so I am pretty sure I O'd.

  • I am not sure how the monitor works, but it is my guess that you are ovulating today.  Time will tell... if you see three higher temps the next three days, then you will know for sure!

My CBEFM always asks me to test even after the first peak.  I believe you are supposed to get two peak days and you usually actually O on the second one (but the temp shift confirms it).

And about the temps, yes, you are not supposed to get up out of bed and then temp.  I'm sorry, I'm trying to keep myself from doing a facepalm.  The definition of your basal body temperature is your RESTING temperature right after you wake up in the morning.  Even just being awake and lying in bed for a few minutes still can make your temperature rise, so getting up and letting the dog out definitely will.  Always keep the first temp unless something really weird happened while temping the first time (like falling back asleep so the thermometer falls out of your mouth - that's happened to me before).

  • HA HA!! Thanks for the tip. Yes, last month it didn't ask me to test again after I got my first O or Peak. It just showed O for two days. Thanks for the tips.
  • This is only my first month using the monitor and it gave me two peak days. When I looked in the instructions it said that it will do this every cycle, including one High day after... Maybe it was a fluke or something..

And def use your first temp :)
