? about switching formula

DS is on Good STart but I think I might try Similac for Fussiness and Gas. Should I just quit the Good Start and do the next bottle Similac or should I introduce the Similac little by little?

Re: ? about switching formula

  • I would just switch cold turkey (that's what we've done with ds#1 and #2). But keep in mind that it could take up to 2 weeks for your lo to adjust to the new formula.

This. I switched my DD 9 days ago from sensitive to advanced and just today her stool has been going back to normal so it takes more than a week.

switch all at once, either as soon as the other is finished or now if you aren't worried about wasting what's left.

I agree that you can just switch cold turkey.  But if you haven't already...

Have you tried Gerber Good Start Gentle?  My DD was on Similac Sensitive (for fussiness & gas) and it helped but affected her stool and upon review of the ingredients, I noticed the first two to be sugar.  It may be no big deal but still bugged me a little.  The Good Start gentle has Whey Proteins which are great and an acid soluble so they are easier to digest than the casein protein in all other formulas.

Anyway...sorry, I don't mean to question your change.  I just happened to switch from the Similac to the Good Start recently and she really likes the GS gentle and I think it has better stuff in it.

    Good luck!
