Hey lady!
I know you're not IN Vegas any more but I was hoping you could help me out?
We're planning a trip to Vegas.
It'll be a first for both of us. We tried going once but we were booked out on THE 9-11 and have been oddly squeemish about attempting to go since then. Just a really bad memory, KWIM?
But I digress....
We'd like to avoid the insanity of summer heat so we were thinking "fall" but I'm not sure when the temps actually begin to drop off a bit out there?
Also - any recommendations of things we MUST do or see while out there?
I'm sure you get sick of tourist questions so I do appreciate anything you can share.
Thanks!

This is so exciting!!!! Your first alone trip in a while
I still visit Vegas regularly b/c all my friends are still there and so is my sister.
October is the best month normally in Las Vegas. End of Sept it gets nice and October is normally perfect. I got married at Halloween time and it was like 78 degrees.
Recommendations are:
Favorite Hotels are: For the bargains go for Luxor, NY NY, or Ballys. For mid-market Paris (get the suite upgrade w/a Bellagio view), or Venetian. Palazzo and Wynn for pimped. My sister swears by Cosmopolitan (I've not been there yet) and I'm dying to go. Now last time I visited I stayed at Bellagio which was also very nice but I wish I had stayed at Aria. I love City Center. It is so beautiful. I've stayed or worked at most places so if you have a question about a property let me know. Also if you want to be daring the Golden Nugget is a surprisingly good hotel considering it is in downtown.
Favorite Restaurants: For breakfast off strip I love Blueberry Hill. On strip there is a crepe restaurant at the Paris that is nice. For cheap meals I like Pink Taco at Hard Rock, WichCraft at MGM, Food Court at Caesar's Palace (they have real unique restaurants not fast food), Salt Lick at Red Rock, and most of the hotels have good cafe's (I loved Bellagio's especially). My DH swears the Rio has a great buffet but I've never been (I'm not a buffet person
) and he loves the Paris' buffet aslo. The only one I could stand was Golden Nugget. You only get like two choices but it is real homemade good quality food.
Nice places the sky is the limit. My new favorite steak place is Union at City Center but CraftSteak at MGM is also great. My favorite Asian is Hamada of Japan off strip or Shibuya at MGM. Fish would be Emeril's at MGM. Place with an amazing view would be Eiffel at the Paris. French would be Guy Savoy at Caesars or Joel Robuchon at MGM.
Clubs if you need any I would say LAX, Pure, and Tao. Bars would be RumJungle, Tabu, and Shadow. I don't drink at all but almost all my friends and former co-workers do and these were the places we would meet up at. House of Blues and Hard Rock have great live music.
Shows well if it is still around you should see "The Magic of Paris". It is the first show that my sister has ever run so I'm recommending it to EVERYONE (b/c it is my sister) but also the magician interned under Copperfield so it is a really good show. I love Carrot Top for Comedy. Cirque wise for me, Mystere is the first and the best; but Believe and Love are also really good. Amazing Johnathon is crude but he is funny as heck and makes for a great late night magic show. If you are into crazy cross dressing you have to see La Cage, Frank is so funny. If you get a chance to see an old time lounge singer like Clint Holmes go for it. Unfortunately shows like that are all but gone. Musicals I liked Phantom and Terry is Fator is pretty neat too.
Have fun! Again if you have more questions I would love to help. It still is my home (I'll probably be back in January).
My dear? You kick @ss!!
Thank you so very much for your lengthy response!
Now I'm off to google all of your suggestions!!
