NBR: Anxiety

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Things have been pretty hectic around my house since Maddox was born. Today is my husband's last day in the military. After 9 years, he decided to get out of the Marine Corps and while I am so happy we don't have to worry about any more deployments, the anxiety is kicking in pretty big time for me. He was able to get a really good job, and we are moving to NC within the next week. I guess things have just been moving so fast that I haven't had the time to really wrap my head around everything. I'm just so used to this way of life and now it feels like my world is being shaken up. It may sound a bit stupid on my end but I don't really know any other way to put it. I know all will be fine and people every day deal with huge life changes. I know part of it has to do with moving with a 2 year old and a 2 month old. I just can't get super excited about it. I just hope all goes well and fairly smooth for this move and that we settle into the "civilian world" just fine.

Ok. that's the end of my rant, I guess I just needed to get that off of my chest. I don't like complaining a lot to DH about everything because he's got so much on his mind right now. He hasn't known much else other than the military for the last 9 years and I know this is a huge adjustment for him as well.

Thanks for reading this!

Your anxiety is TOTALLY understandable!  That is a big life change, and with 2 LOs, you are not only changing your lifestyle, you're changing theirs, so that makes everything even more stressful.  Good luck with everything, and I'm sure in the end you will feel much better.

  • Congrats to YH for retiring! I cannot wait for that day, but I know it will bring stress. It's great that he found a job.

I can't offer advice, seeing as I only know the military! Good luck in the future!

  • My DH dropped the bomb after LO was born that he wont be reenlisting after this contract is up. I am also very scared. I think we will hold off on LO#2 until he gets a stable new job. Can I ask what job your DH found? J is talking about going into law enforcement.

Keep your head up! And if you need someone to talk to, I'm only a PM away. Wink
