Trying to Get Pregnant

Cramping at the wrong time...is it a good sign?

I'm 33 and TTC #1 about 6 months.  Having some interesting symptoms this month.  Its been overall a strange month.  I ovulated CD 9, judging from CM and ovulation pains.  Got some BDing in the day before and day of.  7 DPO I got sudden cramping that felt exactly like something was implanting into my uterus!  That same night I had a dream of an infant girl clinging onto me. Hmm

Cramps continued on and off for about 4 or 5 days.  Not painful really, but definitely noticable.  Now I'm having milky CM, but no other symptoms, besides a mild YI.  AF is due in 5 days.

How do these symptoms sound?  What other things could be causing the midcycle cramping other than implantation?  That was very unusual for me!

Thank you!  And GL to everyone!

  • Maybe you have to poop.

  • Your symptoms sound like phantom symptoms to me. I'm not saying you aren't pregnant, only a test can tell you that. Lots of ladies on here, including myself, experience the same symptoms and unfortunately AF shows. Sad I do my best to ignore phantom symptoms and just wait it out. Good luck to you though!

Are you charting? If not I recommend using Fertility friend to do so.

  • LOL.  Maybe but the cramps didn't feel like that kind.  They felt like AF cramps.
  • Phantom symptoms are just psychological?  That's probably it, because last month I was getting nauseous but ended up not pregnant.

Yep, that's the same face I had when I read this part. Did bluebirds fly up to your window and open your curtains in the morning, too?

It sounds to me like you actually O'd 4-5 days later than you think, hence the cramps.

Also, implantation doesn't occur until 7-10 days after O, so it's doubtful that you'd "feel something implant in your uterus" at 4-5DPO. Confused

  • It's quite possible that is what you are experiencing. With my second pregnancy, I experienced cramping about a week prior to AFs "due date"...  and AF never showed. However, the month after my M/C, I had the same thing and AF showed... So... it's really hard to judge if you felt "implantation" or not.. only time will tell if you have a little one implanted :) wish you lots of luck!

  • Since I've been TTC, I feel like I get cramps earlier and earlier and am always analyzing them as something other than AF cramps.  Do what you can to wait until you expect AF or you're late and take a test.  At the start of next cycle, I second PPs and suggest FertilityFriend.com.  It's soo helpful in giving you a real idea of your cycle.

Feel better and I hope AF doesn't come!

Yes! Did you read the "new to ttgp" link at the top of the board? If not, I recommend it and as I previously stated, if you aren't pregnant, I recommend charting your basal body temp on fertility friend. The tutorials are great also. You will learn a lot about your body!

  • Cramps can be a symptom of a yeast infection, which you have.
