It's probably not the greatest idea, eh? Today is my first day of no pumping and nursing, and while I ache a bit, I'm not in too much pain....Yet. I've been gradually weaning her over the last week or so. Is it stupid to wear an underwire bra during this time?? I kind of want to ditch the nursing bras for many reasons.
I don't want to "bind" my breasts (aka wear a sports bra) because Kellymom says that's a bad idea, but underwire? Thoughts, please.
Re: Can I wear an underwire bra while weaning?
FWIW, I wear underwire nursing bras when I go out in public and have had no problems. My boobs need to be contained in public, lol.

This for me too. I mean honestly, BFing boobs are out of control.
I agree with this!
Sports bras worn all day can be restricting on milk production because they are binding and tight. Underwire bras, if not fit correctly, can cause clogged ducts. The worry with underwire is that the wire can press on a duct, inhibiting milk flow and backing up in the duct. Clogged ducts hurt and can impact supply.
That said, with DD1 I wore underwire bras for 7 months (while EPing) - and I had no supply issues. With this baby, I wear underwire bras when I go out in public, and either nursing tanks or soft nursing bras while at home.

Oh, okay thanks! Do you have any recs for a good underwire nursing bra?
I have some underwire nursing bras that suck...but I got a Multiway Bra from VS with convertible straps and it works like a nursing bra. You just unhook the strap and pull the cup down like a regular nursing bra.
The one I have is like this: https://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265498977950&c=Page&cid=1305797375056&pagename=vsdWrapper
I'm throwing away all my others and just buying some more of these. Much sexier & more comfortable!
