The big AW update post...get on in here!

We haven't had one in some time. I need to do this more.

How are you doing?  What is new with you? If you are TTC, how are things going?  PG, give us an update on how you are doing.  Cravings?  Pains?  How much longer?  If you have little ones, what is new with them?  AW away!

Does anyone want to revive the photo post?  It would be a call out for new photos you want to share.  No regular posts.  Just a fun share what you have post placed at random times.

  • I'm afraid that if I AW that both of the boys were in bed by 9pm (which is SO early for us), karma is going to kick me in the teeth and they'll be bouncing off the walls until midnight, tomorrow night. Stick out tongue

  • Hehehe.  34 lookers and no replies.  THAT is why the board is so DEAD!

TTC-  Nada.  I had a + test last month.  Chemical pg.  Closest thing I have had to a real BFP since I started TTC 31 cycles ago.   I posted about a job opp earlier this evening that might make us stop.  Just got an email that it may be a few more months before they hire the position, so we will keep on trying in the wait time.  Need luck!

DD-  Oh my, where do I start?  She is a sparkler.  Terrible two is sooooooo overrated.  Three is going to make me a nutbag.  I see it coming.  She is so opinionated, and has her own way of doing EVERYTHING.  We can't help her do things anymore.  When we try, we get "I do it!!!!" and a meltdown if we don't just let her.  She is so animated these days.  She is all about telling stories, singing, dancing, acting things out, and putting on a show for whomever happens to be nearby.  It is cute at home, but not so good in public.  She is so verbal that we have had several moments of red face when she says stuff in public.  Case in point:  She LOVES to say "hi" to everyone who passes in a restaurant.  If they don't say "hi" back, she goes off saying "He/she not a nice person.  He/she having a bad day!  They did not say "hi" to me.  Bad person!"  I want to sink under the darn table when she does that.  I do admire the innocent honesty of a 3 year old.  Here we go 3, here we go!

  • That's just it, though. I don't know if I want it to become the trend. It's not that bedtime has ever been difficult (unless it's 1:2, that is), it's just usually much later than 9pm. It probably shouldn't be, but I'm selfish that way - since I work until close to 7pm, M-Th, I hate to have to put the boys in the bath (and then to bed) as soon as I get home. Tonight, they really needed it, though. They were both up early (relative to our normal schedule, anyway), and neither napped all that well because of the storms. I guess we're just lucky that they are pretty flexible and, for the most part, sleep really well.

Along those lines, did I already share how *easy* J's transition to the full-sized bed and W's transition to the crib ended up being? I mean, why did we wait so long to pull the trigger on that? HA!

  • I've got nothing to AW, now beyotching is another story...
  • So sorry to hear about your loss Becky.  Wishing you lots of luck in TTC and your job adventures!

Levi is mostly sleeping through the night and has been for about 2 weeks.  He wakes up some nights, but usually just for a paci.  He's sleeping from about 9p-6a, so it feels good to be getting a little more sleep, although I never seem to catch up!  I feel like he's going to be slower hitting his milestones than Noah was due to his reflux...he hates tummy time and spits up everytime we do it, he's still got a bobblehead :)  It will come eventually I suppose though!

Noah is hilarious and trying as always.  His newest interest is nipples...yes nipples.  One day DH had his shirt off after cutting grass and pointed to his nipples and asked what they were...now he talks about it all the time!  He asks if I have nipples, if Grandma has nipples.  The other day he asked my sister if she had them, she said yes, then he asked if they were purple or white??  We could not contain our laughter, I don't know where he comes up with this stuff.

We're trying to potty train, but he's just not having it.  He gets upset about 50% of the time when we try to have him go, and he won't tell us when he has to go...so I know he's not really ready, but I would love to have only one in diapers soon!

  • Not much here, Good Luck on the TTC really hope you get lucky really soon! Serena rolled on to her face in bed tonight and couldn't roll back off it so off the swaddle came off and I am PRAYING really hard she carries on sleeping, she has been sleeping 12 hours a night!  Henry is amidst the worse of the Terrible Two's and we're trying a hug and love approach, positive reinforcement for good behavior and ignoring bad behavior, doesn't stop him yelling but it's a step in the right direction we hope.

Last week of stupid Summer classes and I am a nervous wreck, 2 tests left!! And I need a VERY big DRINK on Friday evening!!  This week marks the 3rd anniversary of our BFP after over 6 years of unexplained infertility we went to a pig roast, drank margaritas and swam at midnight and 2 days later we got our BFP the morning we left for England.  And look at us now!  As much as I would love another one we really need a break (read: my body needs a break) so praying we don't get a rerun this weekend HA! (Scary thing is we're going out to the same friends again LOL)

  • Things are going okay right now for us. Isabelle just started swim lessons today and she said she had so much fun even though she really didn't want to listen to her teacher.  She also started playing soccer and loves it, for the most part she just runs around the field chasing the ball but it's so cute.  I'm so proud of Oliver, he went from saying 10 words right before his 2nd birthday and now a month later he's up to around 40!  He has the sweetest, funniest voice too.  I love the way he says Mom, it's always like MooooooooM! He even started talking in his sleep, which isn't so much fun b/c he likes to yell for me and I think he's awake so I get up to only find him sleeping peacefully in his bed.  Today is the frist day of summer and I found myself printing out Isabelle's school supply list b/c she starts school August 16th, I find that to be really early, maybe I'm just not ready for her to go to kindergarten.  I'm liking the way our family functions right now and have been rethinking having a third child but we'll see, we've already said we'll see what we feel in a year and decide at that point.

  • We decided on Thursday night that we were pulling the plug on our builder for several reasons.  Saturday afternoon we looked at 5 houses, fell in love with one, and put an offer in on it Saturday night.  Sunday morning the home owners countered and we countered back.  Monday morning they accepted our second counter, we went to the bank for a loan and then went to the realtors office to sign the purchase contract.  Today (Tuesday) we got the pre approval letter and tomorrow the house is being inspected and appraised!  Closing is on July 29th!  Talk about moving a little fast Stick out tongue

Max is doing very well, but the terrible three's are hitting us full force.  His new favorite word is "NO" and it drives me insane!  On a positive note, his labs are perfect and everything is going great with his kidney.  We will be celebrating his 1st kidneyversary in a few weeks (July 8)!

He will be having the testing on his bladder in the middle of August to see which surgery he will need (a very easy one or a very long and tedious one that results in a minimum 4 week hospital stay).  Any extra prayers are greatly appreciated.

I am 23 weeks pregnant and doing well.  I am finally feeling her move (anterior placenta) and it's just as amazing as I remembered it to be! I am still having some pretty nasty, back, hip and thigh pain.  I am also dealing with the dreaded pregnancy poop issue which is causing me a lot of discomfort.  I am trying my best not to complain considering at this point in my pregnancy with Max I was laying at CCHMC in a hospital bed after just having had an open fetal surgery (which was the start of a 13 week bedrest adventure).

So, life is good considering the alternative :)

  • Things with me have been crazy.  Trying to get ready for Garrett is stressful.  I have always wanted to be a Mommy and now that within less then two months I will be holding a child of mine scares the crap out of me!  As some of you remember I lost my husband in '09 so this baby was def not planed but he has brought happiness back into my life.  I really do think that everything happens for a reason we may not know what the reason is at the time or may never learn why but god has a plan.  I am 30 weeks and feeling pretty good.  I did have to make a trip to L&D on Monday morn reason was I was dehydrated.  Drinking tons of water and trying to rest.  Wanna keep this lil man in as long as I can!

  • Charlotte will be two in less than a month, I can't believe it!  She has turned into such a fun little girl.  She LOVES to talk, count and sing songs.  She says so many funny things and talks in full sentances.  I just love hearing what she has to say. She also has a major Dora obsession.  I hear "I need Dora" every day while she point at the TV and hands me the "mote".  We went to Outer Banks the first week of June and two days before we left she climbed out of her crib!!  She slept on a toddler blow-up mattress on vacation and did great. We came home, converted her crib to a toddler bed and haven't looked back.  She calls it her "big-gul-bed" and hasn't tried to esacpe out of her room yet.

Asher is 7 months old and is such a silly baby.  His is much more smiley/giggly/goofy than Charlotte was at that age. He LOVES his Mommy and I'm greatful for that :0)  He had a rough patch with sleeping in the last few months (nothing too horrible) so I decided to unswaddle him and he's been sleeping like a champ ever since because he can roll to his belly and get comfy.  Last night he was out for 11.5 hours!  He desperatly wants to crawl, but usually ends up face planting...  7 months is early for crawling in our house because Charlottle was 10 months old before she even tried!

  • We are doing well.  Leo is finally getting the hang of his toddler bed after three weeks of bedtime hell.  We added blackout curtains and his naps have been awesome too.  We have been going to toddler time at the library and it is so cute seeing him interact with the other kids and the teacher.

Max is adorable and the best baby.  He is such a good sleeper and a generally happy baby.

We are trying to enjoy the summer while I look for a job.

  • Georgia's first birthday was yesterday, I have absolutely no idea where the year has gone! She is such a sweet little lady, and is so chatty. Hudson is such a protective big brother and is really sweet with her. I was a super mean mom and scheduled her follow up ENT apt yesterday, one of her tubes was blocked and they had to scrape out her ears while 3 of us held her down-I felt awful. Vacation is in Agee weeks and I can't wait to head to the beach!
  • Pregnant!  EDD is Feb 24, 2012.  Don't have my first appointment until 10 weeks, so end of July.  And that is only with the nurse.  So hard to wait that long.  We don't want to tell until after we know everything is ok, and I'm not even sure what the nurse does!  Last time with Cedric we didn't know how far along we were so got an internal ultrasound right away.  Hopeing all is good and going well with the little one.

Cedric is 21 months old now and doing great.  We just spent a week at Sandbridge Beach and I think he misses his huge sand box, LOL.  He was happy to be back and see the other 2 kids that I babysit.  They have been having a great time playing the past couple days.  Starting to plan his 2nd birthday party, which will be here before I know it I'm sure.  He is into Nemo and Toy Story so probably going with one of those for a theme.  Party this year will be only famiy and a couple friends though.

B is in an absolutely precious state.  He's a pretty happy kid and dh and I feel really blessed to have hit such a great point with him.  He loves to go "goodbye goodbyes" and asks to go places.  I am so excited to be on summer vacation and am able to take him different places.  My Kings Island adventure with him last week was way easier than I thought it would be... we'll see what's next!

Despite being on summer vacation, we're still sending him to daycare 2 days/week.  I'm teaching 2 classes and need the time to prep, and B needs teh interaction with other kids his age.  He is going to preschool in the fall with an IEP for his speech delay, and the other big motivator in sending him to daycare through the summer is to keep him used to going to "school".  In terms of his actual speech, he is making some progress but it's sloooowwww.  It amazes me how well he can still communicate despite not talking much.

We've also started him in Tumblebees and he absolutely LOVES it!  I can't say enough good things about this program.  45 minutes is the perfect length, and the ability for him to play in Rec Outlet afterwards is even better.

I'm 16 weeks and starting to show, people are noticing my baby bump!  I'm still in shock and don't really believe a baby is in there (even though I've seen him/her and heard him/her several times!).  I can't wait to feel baby regularly, even once in a while I feel like I might have felt a little flutter.

About a month until the BIG u/s - we can't wait!!  Me, my coworkers and my parents all say girl (based on heartbeat only really, and intiution); DH thinks boy, but for no reason other than we have 2 many girls already (me and 2 dogs).

  • I feel really happy these days. Both of my girls are at a fun age. Nora just turned four on Sunday. All she wanted was a jumprope. Love that girl. Iris is ten months old and is such a happy, easy-going baby. She loves clapping, giving high-fives, climbing and sitting on top of things and placing random objects on top of her head and giggling. Last night she stood up in the middle of our family room and took three steps! Slow down!

I feel really positive and fortunate regarding my new, reduced work schedule. I don't know how long it will last but I'll take it and enjoy every second. It's providing me with my ideal work/home life balance and I'm loving the extra time at home and would like to pick up persuing some old hobbies and passions that got pushed aside these last few years.

Our home renovation is finally wrapping up and we are looking forward to the extra breathing room. Our home was a modest 950 square feet with a finished basement and we are adding about 750. It's going to almost double our top level! I wouldn't trade raising our small children these last few years in our tiny home though. It allows me to keep a very good eye on them without much effort. :) Mostly, I look forward to DH having more time persuing his hobbies and enjoying his free time without picking up a tool.

  • Elena is going to be a big sister!  I am 12 weeks today.  :)

She is at such a fun age right now.  I'm loving everything about this age (except the tantrums).  She is shockingly really excited to be a big sister.  She is insistent that the baby is a girl and she won't even entertain the idea of a baby brother.

  • Becky, I'm so sorry. That sucks.

MrsVetter -- Congratulations! When are you due?

As for us, 3 is a tough age. Ellie is adorable and funny and says the cutest things, but the drama and attitude around here are insane. It takes a lot of patience. She was the flower girl in my brother's wedding last weekend and did great! She was totally adorable.

Pregnancy is weird. I have all kinds of strange cravings this time. The main one is Skyline. I could eat it every day. I finally bought a box of frozen Skyline to make coneys and three-ways at home. When I do eat it, the baby moves like crazy. I'm still having some morning sickness and food aversions. I'm feeling the baby move a lot more lately. I feel like I'm getting huge already -- it's definitely true that you show sooner the second time around. Ellie insists she's getting a baby brother, but we won't know if she's right for about another month.

  • First, congratulations on all the new pregnancies - how exciting!

Things are really good and really stressful at the same time.  Maddie is doing fantastic and starting sleeping 12 hours straight 2 days ago (crossing fingers in hopes that I didn't just jinx it).  I stopped nursing her 2 weeks ago due to all the frustration I was having, but still pumping enough to be able to give her half breastmilk and half soy formula bottles, and she seems SO much happier.  She is 6 1/2 months old now and I just love her more and more every single day - no one could have ever prepared me for the way I feel about her, it's such a wonderful feeling.

Things are really stressful because I am preparing to take the OH Bar Exam at the end of July and I want to throw myself off a cliff half the time.  I knew it was going to be alot of work, but it is never-ending and I am officially counting down the days until July 28 when it is all over.  Then I can come home, pack up, and we are heading to Folley Beach on July 30 - now THAT is something to look forward to!

  • Reading through all of these made my day, so I thought I'd share a little more than I usually do.

Mr. O is almost ten months. I attempted to include a photo below, but just in case, here's the link - https://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/slideshow/AlbumID=6407869007/PictureID=330769412007/a=22483371_22483371/otsc=SHR/otsi=SPIClink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/.)

The first three to four months are sooo long, but now time is really flying. He's become a great sleeper and he's a perfect partner for my runs. He gabbers constantly, and I can tell there will be no secrets in my house in a few months. He also loves food, so I'm trying to enjoy giving him new things before all he wants is fish sticks and mac and cheese - see, I listen to you girls. ;)

Finally, I want to thank everyone who supported my last month of pumping. I made, and our stash should last through Mr. O's first birthday. I really couldn't have done it without the extra push from you - thank you!

  • Nora is the best traveler ever. She was a perfect angel at the airport and on all 4 of the flights we took over the past 2 weeks. I am still amazed at how great she was.
  • KATIE!!! So happy for you! (well all of the pregnancies!) Congrats!

    My boys are doing well!

Ben is doing AMAZING with his speech progress, so much so that I don't feel like we should continue services from our district in the fall. I'm so proud of him!

Nathan has less than 2 months now until his first birthday! He LOVES to dance, he's taken a few steps already and is such a talker! We're currently working on signing, waving, and clapping :)

You're not getting a BFP post outta me for a few more years :P

  • Congrats on all the new pregnancies!!

Nolan turned 4 months yesterday-it's going by so fast!! He is really turning into a baby vs. a newborn.I've just started noticing some developmental delays related to his prematurity.  He is however, doing LOTS of goos & gaas which it seems he is ahead on. We head to the pedi on Monday for his four month wellness - I can't wait to find out what his stats are. As big as he seems in pictures he is still a little peanut size wise.

He is still eating every 3 hours during the day but we are getting more sleep at night FINALLY!! He will go down around 11 & sleep till about 5- this has been heaven!! We are still co-sleeping which for now works really well for us.

We are finally getting a routine down & I'm excited to get out of the house more now that I know what his needs are -hello gymboree!
