Trying to Get Pregnant

XP: M/C Changes

For those who have experienced a m/c previously, what kind of changes did you notice?  My last ovulation came from the same side as my loss and came with serious cramping right on CD2.  Then, we jumped back into TTC last night and it was pretty uncomfortable.  Anyone else had this experience? I put a call into my doc just in case b/c all of this is new to me.  I'm guessing since my periods have come like clockwork since the m/c that everything is ok, but I'm too much of a worrier not to be a little paranoid.  Any post m/c "war stories" appreciated.

Re: XP: M/C Changes

  • I think the discomfort was more likely correlated with the period of abstinence/pelvic rest rather than anything associated with the miscarriage.  It takes the body some time to get back to "normal" and since you are more hyper aware of your body, I am sure that doesn't help. Ease back into things and give yourself some time. You went through a major life changing event. Big hugs. I am so sorry for your loss.

PM me if you have any more questions.

  • I had a CP in the middle of May, I just completed my first whole cycle since then and even though my period is over with by 2 days I've been having weird cramping the past few days. Which I also did get right after the CP as well. I just figured it was cramping that went along with the CP. Before the CP I never had cramping until it was a few days before O.

That's all I've ever experienced. So far things have been pretty normal  otherwise.

Thanks ladies!  I really appreciate hearing your experiences. I'm going to work on relaxing this summer and not stress about every little ache in the process of TTC.

  • The only change I had was an anovulatory cycle after. It was really annoying but the cycle after I got my take home baby. I will always remember that day in February. We were devastated.

  • I had a m/c 4 years ago, had to have a D&C done, and the only thing I noticed is my periods are shorter now, it took about 2 months after the m/c for my periods to become regular again.

  • My first cycle was annovulatory so my OB put my on the BCP to heal and reset my cycles. The first couple of times we had sex again were uncomfortable. I think it was partly emotional and partly because it had been a long time because of the spotting, d&c and then post op bleeding. It all calmed down. Good luck and give your body the time it needs.

Since my m/c in January, I've noticed a huge increase in cramping during my period. I also have cramping at all times throughout my cycle that I can't relate to anything... ovulation, period... anything. It's amazing how a m/c will change your body.

  • Just finished my first period post m/c. I had a lot of cramping for about a week before my AF showed up. I definetly usually dont have that. My period was maybe a day shorter and a tad lighter then usual.

  • I didn't notice any changes in my cycle after my m/c but it did take a long time to get my first post m/c period.
