Anyone with a boy who has had a UTI?
What were the symptoms?
DS had a fever on Sunday and no other symptoms..he has fine yesterday. Today our daycare called saying he had not urinated all day. I took him to the pedi and between picking up and arriving there he had peed. He has been waking up in the middle of the night saying his penis hurts. He has had a couple of yeast infections..so I thought it might be that..but there is nothing external. Pedi said just to watch him and likely isnt a UTI. Mmm...

My son had one when he was a baby (4 months). His only symptom was a fever. He had a low fever for a day and then it got progressively worse until he was burning up. Did the pedi collect urine? That's how they tested DS for it, if you are still concerned about it, I'd ask them to do it. Collecting the urine of a baby was easy (they stick a bag over his penis and you just wait)...not sure how cooperative a toddler is with that! Fever was the only symptom of the UTI...and thankfully he's not had any more since then.
I think if it was a UTI the fever would not come and go. But I would probably be a little freaked if DS didn't pee at all during the day! Is he getting enough fluids?
