3 weeks ago we went on vacay (DH, DD & my parents) and DD's sleep got screwed up. She napped maybe an hour each day and only got 10-ish hours of sleep each night. Of the 7 nights we were gone she spent probably 4 of them sharing a bed with someone. The nights that she actually slept in the hotel crib, she started in a bed with someone and was transferred to the crib in the middle of the night.
We got home and (to be expected) DD's sleep habits are shiity. For the last two weeks, either DH or I has been OOT for 3+ days for weddings so DD has been spending more time than usual at the IL's house. She has never napped or slept well at their place.
So it has been 3 weeks and DD still isn't back on track. Once she falls asleep she is fine but it's getting her to sleep that is a problem. Prior to vacation we would put DD in her crib and she would play with her babies and/or read books until she fell asleep. Now she screams bloody murder. She insists that I hold her, her 2 blankets, and a stuffed animal or two & rock her. Until she is d.e.a.d. asleep. I have tried no less than a billion times to put her in the crib drowsy-but-awake and she jolts awake, stands up in her crib & starts screaming. I have tried CIO (which we never did when she was an infant) and it doesn't work. I did CIO in intervals 3,5,7,10 minutes and each time I went into her room she just escalated. This would go on for 30+ minutes. The only thing that would calm her down is me picking her (& her "entourage") up and rocking her.
I do know that DD is currently teething (a couple canines and maybe a molar or two) and we have been giving Motrin as needed. I also know that her body is clearly overtired from 3+ weeks of less than stellar sleep. But I just don't know how to get over the hump and get her back on track. I'm pretty much willing to try anything at this point.
HELP.
