6 days overdue & NST tomorrow

which PETRIFIES me.  When I had DS I had a NST which resulted in an immediate induction and eventual (unneeded) c-section.  I REALLY don't want to go down that road again, so things better go well tomorrow.  If not then I was told that I'd have to *think* about a c-section scheduled for the 29th (two weeks past my due date).

Good luck!  You know you can refuse a c-section too!!  Why are you getting an NST?  Are you high risk?

I changed practices after DS to one that has the lowest c-section rate in NY.  I at least have that going in my favor.

I am getting NST just to see where things are: making sure fluid is okay.  DS had decelerations in HR and that's why they induced/c-sectioned me.  I'm afraid they'll find something similar to that again.

Drink a ton of water (especially the stuff with electrolytes in it), and try to take a soak in the tub or pool for as long as possible before the u/s. This is what my doula advised me with DS2.

I ended up refusing the u/s portion of the non-stress test when I went overdue with DS2, bc the placenta is working okay if the baby isn't showing any signs of distress, so then there's not really a good reason to do the u/s also (It was really hard to say no and tell the MW why, but they didn't give me a hard time about it besides asking why/making sure I knew what I was turning down).

My doula also pointed out that if the non-stress test isn't good, it still won't be good with the tub soaking, or if you drink something sugary beforehand, you know?  Good luck!

Also, if the NST goes poorly, you can ask to be monitored for a longer period of time.  They almost sent me to the hospital to be monitored for 5 hours, but then the NST results fell in line with their expectations.
