We have finally decided to go to Gulf Shores Alabama in August for our first family vacation. My husband has left all of the planning to me. Here are my questions/concerns:
1. Which condo to choose?
Emerald Greens: 2 bedroom, 1 Bath. 5 minute drive to the beach. Splash Park, Free 9 hole course with balls, continental breakfast in clubhouse, sand play area, fitness center, restaurant, and several pools/hot tubs, near shopping and restaurants
Beach Plantation by Kiva Gulf Course: Studio Apartment with great beach view, 7 pools/hot tubs in complex, older property, in Ft. Morgan - quiet family area, 20 minutes to shopping and restaurants
2. Any recommendations on restaurants or activities to do with a 2 year old. We will probably eat most breakfasts and lunches at the condo, but would like to go out some in the evenings.
A little background, I love the beach, my husband loves golf and the beach, our daughter is 2 and loves the water. We are generally laid back and do not require first class accomodations or dining.
Re: Duplicate Post - Gulf Shores Questions
I've been going to Gulf Shores since i was probably 7...even got married there. We took DS down there this past April.
My few tidbits
Stay on the beach; not across or near but on
Ft Morgan isn't a bad area; a little further from thing then the heart of Gulf Shores were the restaurants and shopping are. We look a lot on VRBO.com for great condo deals.
Gulf shores has a great little zoo, DS loved it. it's small; but you get to feed all the animals and what not. Lots of good restaurants. LuLu's is our fav (we are huge Buffett fans though); but it's right at the marina so DS loved the boats and they have a fun kids play area. All kinds of Put Put for cheep. But mostly we played on the beach and went swimming in our pool. Best to stay in a place you can can get your own groceries and just cook in your condo so you don't have to eat out every meal.
Have fun!
