Congrats! I know it is super stressful but hopefully your family can enjoy this time together in the mean time. I know my friend was in a similar situation and ended up being so glad to have that time with her family.
DS born 8/2010 - preliminary stages of SN int'l adoption - fur mama to 2 shelter dogs; cloth diapering, babywearing, EBFing mama
We're in the process of working out the schedule. We might try to go stay with our respective families to be able to do September without rent. It'll depend on the timing of DH's thesis defense and what the moving package from the Army looks like.
And just because I'm nosy - what kind of work will your DH be doing?
He'll be a civilian working for the Army Research Laboratory in the autonomous vehicles division. He'll be focused on micro air vehicles.
Air drones? I'm guessing your DH is an engineer? That is way cool!
Yea- BS/MS in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and (soon to be finished) PhD in Aeronautics. There is alot of interest in drones that can fly like birds and bugs but without flapping wings. He just mentioned to me that he'll probably also be working on crawlers as there is quite a bit of demand for those at the moment.

I'm laying in bed bumping on my laptop - I read my DH your post and asked him if he thought you meant drones and he gave me a 3 minute long schpeel on bird-drones and bug-drones. So now I'm all up on it. LOL.
