What are you going to do? DH doesn't think we need to get another monitor. DS1 is 18m and I am having a c/s next monday for DS2. Our house is small, but I'm still paranoid about not having a monitor for each. We currently have this one...

any suggestions?
Re: 2u2 and monitors? I'm sure this is asked a ton, but I looked back a few pages and didn't see anythi
My DD is going to be 3 in 3 months and I still have a monitor in her room as well as one in DS's room.
What's the worst that can happen? Buy one, keep the receipt, if you find you don't need it, return it.

We have the same monitor you have. It's super sensitive so we decided to wait and see if we would actually need a second one. I figured we could put the monitor in the baby's room and we'd still be able to hear DS on it through the wall they shared.
Before we had a chance to test it we moved and the kids' rooms are about 15 feet apart, so we bought the 2nd monitor. The newer monitor is Graco Direct Connect. I'm a little less impressed by it - the monitor is very sensitive and works over great distances, but occasionally it will turn off or stop transmitting for no reason. That means I have to sneak into a room with a sleeping baby just to turn the monitor back on. Eh...it's ok, but not ideal.
If I had to do it again, we'd still definitely have the two monitors, but the 2nd one would be the same as the first, the one you have; or I would have just gone with a good video monitor in DS's room (for when he is done with the crib and starts moving around the room) and put the older Graco one in the baby's room.
We don't yet have two to monitor, but we do have this monitor. I was having the same problem with it turning off randomly. Now, I just make sure to turn it off at least once during the day. I haven't had problems since.
This monitor is a video monitor, but will allow you to view two rooms at once https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Multiview-Handheld-Monitor/dp/B000XSCCUU/ref=pd_sbs_ba_5 it's expensive, and I haven't used it so I can't say if it would be worth it.
We have the Summer Infant video monitor (one of the older versions) and we just bought an extra camera for it. On the handheld video screen I can manually switch back and forth between each camera.
The newer version automatically switches back and forth between the two cameras.
