Beach with LO = Success

Well we did it! We took LO to the beach this weekend. I was preparing myself for a horrible weekend. My 2 older ones have been fighting alot lately and LO has been a bit whiny, but EVERYONE was on their best behavior. It was almost a 4 hour trip and he did great! We took him on the beach and did the boardwalk until after midnight and he hung in with us. The only time he really cried was when he got tired of sitting in his stroller, other than that, I think he had the most fun out of everyone. He was in total amazement of everything. He wasn't a huge fan of the ocean, but totally loved the pool.

I posted a few days ago I wanted a tent to take LO on the beach and DH was being cheap...well, I bought one anyway. I stongly encourage anyone else going to get one. What a lifesaver. Kept the sand and sun off of him. We were both SO happy we got it.

I was pretty sad to come home back to the real world, but now everyone has me excited for out SS. I cannot wait!

  • That's great! What tent did you end up getting?

  • Good boy!  Since this is old hat to you now, I have a few questions!  How much time did you spend on the beach?  Was it too much/too little?  What things did you bring with you to LO entertained?  We have a week coming up and I'm sort of nervous.  I have a tent, beach mat/umbrella and what else?

  • We got the Lil Wonders Pop up Cabana. Nothing to put together, loved it. I can't for the life of me figure out how to fold it back up to put in the bag so I just folded it in half and it's sticking out of the box it came in :)

Wow, GracieMay, a week! I would be nervous too. But after our 2 days we probably could have done longer. Each day we spent about 3 hours at the beach and about 4 hours on the boardwalk. We actually only left the beach because my teenager wanted too, not LO! I just pretty much bought the basics. I brought his diaper bag with all the essentials...sunscreen, hat, bottles, formula, lots of diapers, swim diapers and wipes and his toys. I just brought the usual ones that I keep in his bag that he likes. I can't think of anything that I didn't bring that I wish I would have. For the tent, don't forget to bring a nice thicker blanket to lay on the bottom so it's more comfortable for LO to sleep. Other than that I think your all set. Have a great time. Oh...don't forget your camera like I did!
