I have a 1 year old and am going to start babysitter a little boy that's 2. I've been looking at double strollers (mostly on craigslist). any recs on good ones? Which do you prefer-front to back vs side to side? I feel really lost on this one!

Re: Stroller Rec
I have the Baby Jogger City Select. I don't really like the side by side ones, too BIG. I also don't like the Phil and Teds and Britax double because they have one child, literally, sitting under the other.
I love the CS because it can be used as a single or double! It also has an extending handle, so for talll parents, it's a dream.
There are 16 different seat combos, and tons of storage space. I can't say enough about this stroller.

You will definitely get mixed reviews with this question!!
I used our SBS much more often than our tandem, and then eventually just sold the tandem because it was taking up space. We have the Bumbleride Indie Twin and I love everything about it. Smooth push, huge seats, humongous sun canopies, big basket that's accessible underneath. OH! And fab colors, haha.
I had the UppaBaby Vista with the rumble seat (so not a true tandem) and hated it. I would never recommend that as a primary double. I've heard amazing reviews of the Baby Jogger City Select, but I'm just not sure we really need it at this point.
Good luck!
ETA: I know most people say the biggest issue with a SBS is that it won't fit anywhere. I haven't found that to be true. The only place I haven't been able to use our Twin is at Gymboree. But please. Show me how a *single* can fit in those tiny stores!!
I've had no issues at the mall, doctor's offices, etc.
