Hi ladies!
Got up at 5:30AM for our 1st IUI today. Everything went well. I'm a little crampy is all. The RE said DH's specimen was "excellent" with 35.7 million swimmers. DH could not have been prouder.
Questions: Does it take FOREVER to do an IUI at your RE's clinic? We got there right on time at 7:30A, and there were 40 people waiting, including a few couples who were obviously doing IUI, too. It took an hour before they took my DH to do his thing, and another hour and 15 min before they called me back. We didn't get out of there until after 10A. Just wondering if this is a normal wait, or if my RE clinic is the factory I suspect it is.
Also, I gave myself the trigger shot Saturday night, per orders. Then Sunday night I felt 2 sharp pains/cramps in quick succesion. I normally don't feel ovulation, so I'm wondering if that was it. And if so, was the Monday morning IUI too late? I'll ask my RE too.
Thanks! 2ww for me. Progesterone test in 1 week.
Re: IUI #1 - coupla questions
We've never had to wait for DH to go in to do his thing. The hour for the sperm to be washed is normal. Sorry you had to wait so long. How annoying!
If you O'd Sunday night, the egg was there waiting for the sperm. The egg lives for like 24 hrs so you are fine.

Thanks ladies! I'm hopeful IUI will work. If not this time, then soon. Thanks for the encouragement!
Good luck on the IUI, glad to have someone to do the 2WW with
My REs office always schedules DH to go in 90 minutes before I go in for IUI. Since we are generally doing this on a work day, we go separately and don't need to wait for the sperm washing, it's generally done by the time I get there for my appointment.
the office is generally very busy with people waiting for monitoring but I haven't had to wait too long for my IUI, with the exception of the first one that I did, I waited an hour, and it's no wonder it failed that month, I was so stressed out about being so much later for work than I had told my boss, that I was barely focused on the procedure.
However they have been much better about this the last 2 times, including this morning when I had to be at work by 8:00 and they told me to come in at 7 and I think I waited 20 minutes but I was at my desk by 8, so that was good.
My RE clinic has the male go in an hour and 45 minutes early. I was going to go, and just wait, but my acupuncturist wanted to see me beforehand so I went separately. We still had to wait 45 minutes after my appointment start time to get in and be seen. Kinda crazy given that it was a Sunday.
IMO they are all baby factories. Especially the good ones b/c they publish higher success rates and more people want to go there.
