Confession on tickers

The baby tickers that show it forming really creep me out until it looks like a mini baby. I know it's cool and all but it just turns my stomach to look at them and move my screen so I don't see it while I'm reading someone's post if they have one.

Lame confession? Yes.

I agree.  I think they get better later when the baby is bigger and more "baby-like" if you will but are still weird.

Yes it's yours that creeps me out! I like the idea of fruit better...because I can eat fruit and I'm really into eating food lately. And food doesn't freak me out.

But come on you totally want to get to the watermelon stage so you can say...

"I carried a watermelon?!?" heheheheheh from what movie ladies...

It's not so much the bump anatomical tickers that creep me out, but the ones with a real photo of an embryo at that stage...a drawing is much less creepy.  But, what's even creepier to me (sorry if you ever had this ticker) are the cycle tickers with what's going on inside of your uterus at that point in your menstrual cycle...with drawings...

I know what you are saying .. yesrterday we were all talking about the baby size this week being a blueberry and my mom was like I just ate a blueberry ugghh... how weird hahah

This is why I stuck with the cutesy footprint/baby bundle.

I didn't want to look at my baby as fruit, but I didn't need a play-by-play of what alien-like shape I'm currently carrying around looks like either.

I do, however, get the weekly emails from BBC, which I use to journal in my pregnancy scrapbook.

Yeah, they all kinda creep me out too. Can't wait til they look like actual babies rather than weird flesh contortions ;-)

I'm into science so I love the ones with the real baby and the drawings of what the baby looks like.  I used to like the fruit ones, but I think they're soo far off (at least in the beginning.  I went in for a dating ultrasound and based on the 1 time it could have occured, I thought I was 5w5d.  Lightening bug ended up measuring 2.47 mm and they said I was 5w6d.  The fruit ticker says at 5 weeks it's the size of an apple seed.  Um at the end of 5 weeks it was still slightly smaller than a sesame seed!  It doesn't go from poppy seed 1 week to apple see the next week.  I know it's just estimations, but it still annoys me.  I think pregnology is closer for size estimations, but I don't think they have tickers.

It may be the science -nerd in me, but i find the real pictures of the growing babies fascinating  I actually like all the tickers hehe.

Haha, DH and I were just joking about how ours looks like a baby Dinosaur. I like it more than the fruit. The fruit creeps me out big time for some reason.

We were just having the exact same discussion last night!  Baby looks like a dinosaur.

I like all the real tickers.  I find the whole process fascinating.  The fruit ticker is interesting too.

I kind of like the fruit because I like to know what size it is!  Never thought about that in regards to eating it, but now I will!  Last week, my aunt patted my belly and told me I looked pregnant, and I had to tell her it was just fat, and the baby was the size of an appleseed! 

The real baby picture at week 8 and again at week 16 look incredibly creepy to me. I think it's the head veins.
