Success after IF

Celexa users?

I posted last week that my psych switched me from Lexapro to zoloft, since the lexapro seemed like it was not as effective as it had been.    I did not like the zoloft at all, I felt super jittery on it and had major issues with the bathroom (tmi).

So, she suggested celexa.   I have been on it 5 days now and I am exhusted beyond belief.    I feel like I could fall asleep at any time, but when I lay down to sleep I can't!    I feel a little spacey too.   My questions are:

Did you feel this side effects as well?

Did they go away?

What time do you take the celexa?

Do you take it with something else?

Are you on it for depression or anxiety/both?

Anything else would be great to hear, I am so frustrated with this.    I seriously feel like calling the psych and telling her to put me back on Lexapro, it worked 75% of the time.

Thanks again

Re: Celexa users?

  • I took Celexa for a year a long time ago - DH has been on it for several years now (what a pair we are!)   I don't remember having any problems but I do remember being tired - so I took it at night.  DH takes his at night too.   I took it for depression and anxiety - same for DH.
    Wheee!

  • I'm afraid "2 weeks" is a pretty typical "settling in" time for new meds like that. Some docs will even insist on 6 weeks until they'll switch.

I'd give it a little more time, and perhaps switching when you take it will help. (sorry, I don't recall the half-life on that one or what's typical. I think most take it in the AM?)

Keep on' keepin' on, girl. It's a bit of bullchit getting this all set, but hopefully all worth it in the end!

  • Thanks for the responses.   I have a call out to the Psych to ask her about it.    I am going to see if she recommends taking it at another time.    I hope that might help.    I just hate this feeling, I am so jittery still,  among sad.....which sucks big time.    I wish the lexapro was back in my system and things were back to normal, if only it worked that way.

I am trying to keep busy but staying at home provides a lot of "down time" which of course I have time to obsess.    Grrrr, I would not wish this on anyone.

    Thanks ladies
