Hi chicks!
I am up earrrrrrly after a long night. We are going on vacation from Wednesday-Wednesday and yippy-kay-yi-yay, it is a #$% getting packed up to go away for a week with a one year old! Darn it!
My weekend was pretty good, weighing today. Always nervous so we shall see. Hopefully my swimming will have paid off and it's going to be over 100 today here so maybe I can shed some water weight before 3:30. Ha ha ha ha ha.
So... my plan is to track my food (I'll have wifi at the vacay house so I can get on my iPod Touch) but to allow myself a little more indulgence than normal because of vacation. Anyone have vacation tips for me? I don't want to sabotage myself but I also want to feel like I having a vacation! DH is staying behind and the boys and I are going with my parents. My mom and I can be bad together about eating, but we are both serious and have come a long way since we started 5 weeks ago, so I hope we can be each other's support instead of demise!!
I'm also planning on being SUPER active (walking on the beach, swimming in pool every afternoon) so that will help. We are headed to Sea Ranch so really there is nothing to do except exercise (and eat, and drink, and sit in the hot tub! What?!!?).
Ok. Advise me ladies... advise me.
Oh, and someone else should take over this check while I'm gone- I'm going to try to stay as unplugged as possible (gasp!) while we are there.

Re: BOMB check in
I think it's a bad idea to go balls to the wall while you're on vacation. I have found that it's just too hard to get back on the wagon after a full week of being on vacation. I think the first part is getting your mind frame right.
You're going on vacation and while you'll want to enjoy yourself there, food has no power over your experience. It's just food. There's nothing special or miraculous about vacation food. It's the same stuff you could have at home everyday if you wanted. I say, eat well and use your weekly points allowance on wine and earn some activity points and use those on wine too.
When I was counting points, I tried to be in a mindset of "this is a LIFEstyle change, not a diet"...so on vacation, or for example when my dad was in town for a week and there was lots of eating out and cooking for him, etc...I still tried to be cognizant of what I was eating, but I avoided weighing food, staring at labels, or really technical/specific tracking. What I would do in those cases is just be aware and try to count in my head generally, get a lot of activity in, and then "count" that as the max points used for the day. Just clear them out before bed. That way I felt like I was still keeping track, but I wasn't obsessing over the exact number of points, wasn't penalizing or rewarding myself, just clearing the points and moving on. I felt like on average there were probably days I used less points than I was tracking (based on activity, etc), and probably days that there were more - but being that I was vacationing, I was okay with just not knowing exactly. It helped me maintain a little more of the "normalcy" that I wanted...allowed me to think in terms of that being how I wanted to live my life - not controlled by counting when a vacation should be a chance to relax from things like that, IMO. Don't go hog wild, obviously...but allow yourself to be relaxed from time to time, and I think you'll be able to think of things in a bigger picture/longer term way...does that make sense?
Have a great time! And congrats on all of your successes so far. You look GREAT!
SOme stuff I do for vacation is splurge on healthy traeats that are decadent because they are expensive but not high in calorie. Such as really good sweet tomatos, figs, fresh motzerrella and fresh basil. More examples for me would be blueberries, cherries, berries and etc.
Going out awsome treats for ww are fruit plates, shrimp cocktail, and crab. I also try to do the leg work on some possible reasonable meals out before my vacation so I have a plan and am not wasteing precious vacation time trying to figure out ww points.
My advice on activity would be to choose something enjoyable that happens to be active to do everyday. You know what you enjoy doing. I love to swim and walk and chat with my mom on vacation.
