nbr: anyone been to Star Lanes on the Levee?

I am thinking of hosting a birthday party there, but not sure if I should get a private room?

Also- has anyone eaten there? How is the food quality? Pricing?

I've never been- how does this place differ from other bowling alleys?

I've been, but for a work function, so I'm not sure on the pricing, etc.

The bowling alley itself is nice, but it's more of a bar than a bowling alley.  Lots of lights, music, etc.  There are waitresses that serve you drinks the entire time or there's a huge bar right behind the lanes.

The food's decent, for bar food.

If you want a quite place to talk/hang out, I'd suggest a private room.  It's pretty loud and seating's pretty cramped around the lanes.

Fun place though (says the preggo who couldn't drink or bowl during the event).

  • I find it to be expensive to just bowl there... they do bowling by time not by games. We were stuck one time next to a bunch of drunk kids that kept on walking into our lane... we barely finished one game with 4 people in an hour. It was very annoying. I dont know about the food prices, but I do know the bowling was a little higher than I prefer for a night out.
