Baby Names

thoughts on Reyna

I'm looking for a girls name that is not popluar, but not off the wall.  DH doesn't care for the Rayna spelling, since we know a few guys named Ray/Raymond.  Possible middle name Katherine.  We are having children a bit later in life and I feel like all the "good" names have already been used by our family & friends.  Names that I like, but know too many or are too close to are: Emma, Olivia, Ava, Eva, Rylee, Victoria...  This is a down fall to being the last in our circle to have babies!

 Thoughts please!  Thanks!

  • I have issues with that name which are personal,i know a raina and dont like her so the name is tainted for me...however,its your baby your choice..here are some diff spellings and/or similar name options I came up with..

    Raina,Reina

    Raegen (Rae)

    Raya,Rylan,Royal

    Ryan,Rianna,Ryanna

  • I actually like Rayna, but b/c I know an incredible little girl with that name.  She is just six and this spring shaved her head and raised over $15,000 for pediatric cancer research!  How could I not like the name after knowing a cool kid like her? :)

I will say, when I first saw the Renya spelling, I thought of Ren-ya"  I know there is no N in it, but that's still what I first thought of.

  • I like the spelling Raina if you want to avoid Rayna.

  • I know 2 Reyna's (different spellings of course) one in their 50s, one in their 20s, I think it's a pretty, feminine name that is still unique.

  • Reyna? No, it looks like you don't know how to spell Reina (Queen in Spanish) and naming your kid queen is never good.
  • i like reyna!

    another option: ronya/rania (pronouned "ron-yuh")

  • I don't really care for it.  Have you tried going on the SSA baby name site and just looking at all of the names below #500?  Or even downloading the file with names below #1000?

  • My cousin is named Reyna, with that spelling, and I don't care much for her. Somewhat of a diva. tbh, I almost wish I'd meet someone who could redeem that name for me.

  • I do like Raina. I've seen it spelled Raina, Reyna, Rayna. I think it's very pretty and I believe it means queen (?). I do know a couple people with this name. Also, I love Rania.

    Reyna Catherine is pretty.
