Cloth Diapering

WWYD-bad dipe

I recently bought a diaper from someone and the snap down snaps are bad-won't snap.  It's a fitted and it was not noted anywhere.  I HATE being the least bit confrontational and really, even if I tell the seller what can they do?

The only thing I can think of is maybe her LO was big enough they didn't use the snap down snaps and they got wonky without her realizing it?

  • Depends. Was it from etsy or CL or what?

  • Well,  I might ask for a partial refund. Maybe just a couple bucks. Either that, or return it to her for a full refund.

  • She might not have known.  I don't think I've ever used my fold down snaps on any of my fitteds.  I'd contact her and see what she says.

Ditto! If it were me, I'd want to know so I could make it right.

Oh, and Kittycatg-got your diapers (not yours obviously ;) and they are great!  You are one fast shipper!  thanks so much!

Don't let it go! Definitely e-mail her. Did I sell you a diaper? I've sold a lot lately and have never used the fold down / rise snaps on any of my current diapers (if it was me I am so so sorry!). It could be an honest mistake.

If I were a seller who sold something defective I would offer to do a partial refund or a full refund. For a full refund I would likely ask for the product to be returned (I would pay for shipping) or just let the person keep it for free if it wasn't worth paying for shipping. It's not confrontational. I don't know about anyone else but I would feel super bad if I sold something defective.

  • Tell her! Be nice about it of course but let her know. I don't use snap down snaps, so if it was me please do let me know. :-)

I always would rather make something right for someone vs. them feeling unhappy with a purchase.

  • If it was from me I would want to know. A lot of what I just sold, I barely used, so I would not know if it had wonky snaps and if it did I would want to know so I could make it right. I am very particular about buying and selling used and try to be as descriptive as I can, so I would want to know so that I could be more aware next time.

  • I would contact the seller, express your concerns & ask for either a discount or a full refund to send back the diaper.  Whatever you are wanting.  I have had to do this before.  Yes it was awkward, but I was nice about it & so was the seller.  I got a full refund & just sent it back at my own cost.

  • I hope this wasn't me :/.  I used only the smallest rise on the diapers I sold and didn't even think to try the other snap rises.  I am meticulous about describing my used diapers so I would feel awful if I missed something and probably offer a full refund.  PP's are right, I think for the most part (at least this board anyway) just want to make it right so I would contact the seller for sure.

  • I don't use the snap down rise either and I would want to make it right if it was me.  If it was someone from this board I'm sure she will be understand it seems like most of us are!  That's why I prefer to buy all my used diapers from bumpies, I'm scared to buy from anyone else!
