17 years ago my daughter was born 50 minutes after her due date - after 72 hours of intense labor. 20 months later, my son was induced 10 days past his due date and that labor was 'only' 13 hours long.
This time...it's a whole new ball game so I figure "anything goes!" I am already dialating which I NEVER did before contractions before so I'm hoping that means no induction and not 72 hours...

With L we thought my water broke, it turned out to be a high leak. I was in labor about labor total about 30, but hard labor only about 7 with little pitossin for a kick. With J my water broke around 6:45 am and I actively started to labor around 7:30. He was born at 10:52 am

With K, I was induced and didn't really have any contractions to write home about until they broke my water. It was 2 hours of hard labor, from the time they broke my water until K was born.

I feel dumb because I have no idea what counts as actual "labor". Do you figure the timing from the very first contraction to the end, or from when you are needing to use some kind of pain management to the end, or, when you are admitted to the end, or from when you start pushing to the end?
Here is my breakdown...
Luke - first contraction 3 am. Went to hospital at 9 am. Sent home. Returned at 1pm. They broke my water around 6. I pushed for 30 minutes or so and then they vaccumed him out due to distress. He was born at 7:37 pm.
Ella - first contraction at 8pm. Called hospital at 10 pm. Left at 11:30 pm. After being at the hospital for an hour (check in, triaga and room transfer) she was born at 1:45 am (6 minutes after we got to our room). They broke my water as I was doing my first push.
Thea - Water broke at 3 am. Went to hospital due to Group B Strep positive. Waited almost 20 hours before first contraction. It was 3 hours total from that until she was born. I pushed for roughly 30 minutes. She was born at 2:17 am.
1ST- Induced due to high BP. Started rounds of pitocin and cervidil. 18 hours hours later, nada. Lots of contractions on the monitor, but zero pain. Water broke on it's own and labor started. 4 hours later A was born after 45 minutes of pushing. So I count labor and deliver as 4 hours from start to finish.
2nd- woke up at with contractions at 2:30am. thought they were BH. not painful, but kept waking me up. finally timed them for a while and they were 3-4 minutes apart but not painful. Called triage and with my past quick labor (by their books) they said to come in even though no pain. Got to the hospital at 5:45am and they got painful on the way. R was born at 8:49am.
So, I shaved off really only 30 minutes for #2. Pushed for equally as long though.
6 hours start to finish and 4 hours start to finish. My understand is that its usually (per my OB) shorter- and usually between 1/3- 2/3's shorter. Hope that helps! But as everyone knows- anything goes!
With my first pregnancy I was induced for pre-e. The induction started at 3AM and the girls were born at 5:30.
I just had my second delivery on Wednesday. At Tuesday's dr appt I was 3cm dilated. Contractions started at 4:45 Wednesday morning, 7cm at 10:30 when I went to the hospital, 10cm at 2:00 and she was born at 2:14.

With M I was induced, started at 5am we did a c/s at midnight.
With W went into labor, checked into hospital alittle before midnight he was born at 7am.

1st time: 22 hour labor, pushed for 3 hours. Went into labor on my own but had a smidge of pitocin after awhile to get things goin'. It was ouchie.
2nd time: 5.5 hours. I was induced and it was great. I only pushed a few times and he was out - even at 9lbs 2ozs. No problems.

Congratulations!
#1 12 hours (about 7 hours worth of "this is it" kind of labor)
#2 6-7 hours (4 hours of "this is it')
#3 about 6 hours (2 hours of "this is it")
No meds, no help, pretty much just baby catching for the mid-wife/doctors.
#2 - 4 hours, not induced, natural childbirth
