F/U to travel nanny - if interested

To anyone who read my post about hiring a travel nanny, we have done some research and I thought I would share. 

There are such a thing as professional travel nannies.  They travel all over the world for families that want help with their children.  The two women that we interviewed both seemed amazing, but holy smokes they are expensive.  REALLY expensive. 

So we decided to post on Craig's list and we were really amazed with what we came up with.  We live in a suburb of Manhattan and all of the responders were full time nannies.  They were only interested in working during the month of august.  Turns out that a lot of familes that live in NY but are from Europe go home for the month of August leaving their nannies with nothing to do.  Their employers are completely aware that they are looking for short term employment and act as their references.  Everything is above board and very reassuring and they are 1/3 the cost of the professional travel nanny.  We are meeting the first candidate on Sunday and we are feeling very optimistic.

Definitely good to know! I'm trying to bug my cousin to ask her son's college friends for help when we visit them in August. But this is good news if I could wrangle one for Disney in the next year or two...
