Rx Ladies...

DH has a script for Allegra.  The pharmacy we normally frequent is out and not sure if they'll get more.  While I'm not surprised given that it's OTC now, I'd rather purchase it as a "prescription" so I can easily file it with my flex spending (at least for this month).  Otherwise, we have to go back to his doctor and get a new script for the OTC drug so I can deduct it...  and I think this will cost us a paperwork fee that I can't deduct.

So.. my question...  do you happen to know the likelihood of being able to fill the script this week?  Or should he put a call into his doc for the prescription.

I hope this makes sense.  Trying to follow the rules is a PITA.

  • I would have your pharmacy check their other stores for product availability. Maybe they have it in stock nearby? I am very surprised that you can get insurance to cover it since it is otc now. My insurance would not touch that. Good luck!
