So there have been lots of posts about baby laundry detergents, but not really about fabric softeners. Does anyone use one in particular over another? Are they not recommended at all? I know for my cloth dipes, it's a big no-no, but what about bedding and their regular onesies, etc...?
Re: Fabirc Softeners
Fabric softeners remove the flame retardant coating that's put on baby clothes and bedding. I use wool dryer balls instead.
ETA: You can put a few capfuls of vinegar in the washer to naturally soften the fabric without the added chemicals, if needed.
I haven't noticed much of a difference (other than scent) since switching to the dryer balls, but I was never consistent about using dryer sheets anyway. They do definitely make the load dry faster and reduce static.
As an added bonus they're also my DD's favorite toys
I'm the mom with the kid that happily clutches her dryer ball for an hour long trip through HEB. She's been doing it for months.
