My parents put down our family dog today, she would have been 14 next month. She had a huge tumor on her short little leg for a long time, and this morning it burst so they rushed her to the vet. Turns out it was cancerous, and she had several tumors all over her body. Not too mention she was deaf and had bad eye sight. It was her time to go. I feel bad for my mom to have to make the decision and I didn't get to see her before they let her go. I also feel bad because we would joke all the time about how she need to just "croak" and that she will never die. I'm a lot more sad than I thought I would be, I've been crying all afternoon. I got this dog 5 months before I met DH.
Im sorry. Similar thing happened with our family dog. He was 16 and couldnt see or hear well and one day just started having accidents all over the house and couldnt stop himself. Dad took him to the vet and they put him down that night cause he got so sick. I hadnt lived at home in years at that point but it was still super hard. No fun... we always just hoped he would go on his own too but he was stubborn I guess!

I am so sorry for your dog. =[
It is always so hard to lose a pet, makes me scared to get one! My mom just lost two of her dogs this past month. He was blind, going deaf, and was slowly loosing his teeth. Overall he was doing wel until the week before he passed. He just fell asleep and never woke up. Two days later their other dog had a heart attack. We think it was from the stress of his lifelong companion dying. The older dog was the uncle of the other. Even though they were not my dogs, it was tough.
Keep your chin up, and think of all the good times that you two shared!

I feel your pain. I'm so sorry. In the end of April we had to put our dog, who was 17 years old, down. We, too, would always joke that she would just never die. It came to a point where she had so many tumors and couldn't walk when we finally took her in. She was annoying as hellll, but it is still so sad to go to my parents house and not have her there. Hope you are feeling better soon! We imagine our pup is now spry and jumping and running all over.
