For the past couple years, I've been used to having super targets and walmarts all around me, BRU, costco, ikea, container store etc. We moved up to Glendale and haven't yet found one area which has all these types of stores close to each other...is there some major shopping area? Where do you get your home stuff? Things like floor lamps, shelving units for bathrooms etc? Also, what grocery stores are good? The closeby pick n save isnt too bad and we have a trader joe's here....

Re: Where to shop in Milwaukee?
Unfortunately, I know just about nothing about Glendale as I have always lived on the Northwest side of Milwaukee. My main shopping areas are 124th between North Ave and Capitol where there is a Sendiks (grocery), Kohl's, Aldi, Lowes, JcPenney Furniture Outlet, Target (which has quite a few groceries but isn't a super target), Home Depot, Marshalls with a HomeGoods, and a TJMaxx. That area is super close to Mayfair Mall as well and there is a Crate and Barrel there along with your Pottery Barn type stores.
The other big shopping area I go to would be Bluemound Road in Brookfield.
If you're looking for good lamps I'd highly recommend BBC Lighting which is in in a wharehouse down in the Menomonee Valley right outside of downtown.
Like the pp said, no Ikea or Container Store here in Wisconsin, but there are those in Northern Illinios if you wanted to make a day trip out of it.
I'm jealous that you're close to the Trader Joe's.

This Cluttered Life
I'd say the shopping area in Grafton is probably closer/easier to get to. We go every other weekend. There is a Target, Home Depot, Kohl's, Michaels, Aldi, Costco, and a bunch of other stuff. Just head north on 43 and get off at the Grafton exit (about 15 mins).
When I first read the title of your post I had to laugh. You live at the mall! There are stores outside of your window:) Just not the kind you are looking for.
