How to find Moms groups/playdates?

I'm looking on Meetup but was wondering how you found a Mom group or made playdates?  I'm a SAHM in Germantown/Gaithersburg area.  DS is 14 months old and I'm in my late 30's (if that helps - or matters)   TIA

Besides meetup, Yahoo groups is another place to look.  Also, I've met a few moms just going to coffee shops with small play areas.  Maybe also play areas at a mall or rec center?

  Mine is about the same age, and I am in the same area. And i am in the saem age range (really staring down 40). I have the same question!
