Just saw your basement response.  We are in Austin.  Our house is on a hill and the entrance to the "garage" is in the back and under the house.  There is a garage door and a regular door.  It's pretty impossible to get a car inside b/c you have to drive through the whole backyard.  With the bathroom down there and the access to it from the house, I consider it a basement.  I've never had a real basement though.  But, I think this is about as close as you get to one in the south.
