Two Under 2

Pregnant again.... already.

My son will be 5mos next week and I just found out that I'm pregnant again.  I'm so anxious right now that it isn't humorous.  Is anyone else in a similar boat?

  • I'm definitely there with you.   Words that ring in my mind are "you are not having this baby today"  I have to remind myself of that everyday.

I posted on here a few weeks ago about panic attacks when I first found out.  After seeing the little bean, I am feeling better.  I still panic, but not as much.

GL and if you ever need to talk you can PM me.  I'm definitely in your boat :)

  • I'm right there with you. I have high BP and am prone to anxiety, so I have totally had to make myself not stress about it (at least for now). I'm sure there will be plenty of that later. Mine will be 14 months apart.
  • I was in your exact position and I PROMISE you it will be fine. Yes its hard at first but will be ok. As long as you realize moments of craziness will pass. And remember you have 9 months to be pregnant so enjoy every moment you can with your first.

Hang in there.  I found out that we got pregnant before my son left the nicu.  He is now 8 months actual and will be 5 months adjusted on the 19th and I am now 23 weeks pregnant.  I've pretty much been pregnant for 2 years.  I'm due Oct. 11th (DS was born on Oct. 2nd).  When is your due date?
  • My girls will be 10.5 months apart, one born Nov 28, 2010 and the new LO will be arriving around Oct 15, 2011.  We were shocked, but now we are so very thrilled... let it sink in and you will be surprised at how excited you will be!

You will be fine.  My kids are now 23 mos and 9 mos.  It's definitely harder to make two happy rather than one but it hasn't been overwhelming.  You're oldest will be over a year old and getting pretty independent by the time the new baby arrives.

  • That is the exact time I found out I was pregnant with #2 last year-a week before my DS turned 5 months. My two are 12 months and 22 days apart. :)

I love having them so close. I had a fairly easy adjustment (although we've had some tough weeks here and there!) I thought going from 0-1 was so much harder than 1-2. It is really fun to watch them grow up together. The bond they have is indescribeable-the second my DD sees her big brother's face in the morning, she smiles from ear to ear. She is crazy about him and laughs constantly at watching him play. My DS is such a sweet big brother-he helps burp the baby, tries to feed her a bottle, and loves to make her laugh. They want to be together all the time. When I've gotten up in the middle of the night to DS crying, there have been times he was trying to get into her crib so they can sleep together. They are super close already and it is so sweet to watch.

I promise you will love it, even if it's tough in the beginning.

  • Mine are going to be just about 13 months apart.  At first when I found out I was freaking out.  But now, I'm really getting excited.  It was kind of rough the 1st trimester, but now that I'm in 2nd I'm feeling much better.  In fact, because I'm so busy with LO its going REALLY fast!  Congrats!!  Just think how close & what good friends they are going to be!

as stated above- it's all good!

mine are 14 months apart- i found out i was ku with #2 when #1 was 5 months.

what the what?! but it's awesome- promise.

  • Congrats!!!  It has been such a wonderful adventure.  I found out when DD1 was 7 months old that I was already 2 months PG with DD2.  I was completely floored and honestly...it took me until I heard her sweet cry in the OR (I had a C-section) to be completely overwhelmed with love all over again.  It is unreal and I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.  For us, being in baby mode already made it so much easier to adjust to having another.  NOW, I can't imagine going from baby mode to toddler mode and then back to baby mode.  We are loving life!!!  I'm not saying it's all peaches and cream every moment but neither was adjusting to the 1st one.  I am so happy for you and your DH!

  • Our kids are not quite 11 months apart. It has been a wild ride so far, but totally worth it. Enjoy your pregnancy and this remaining time with your first as your only. By the time you give birth, you will be ready :)

  • It will be great!  DS was 8 months when I got pregnant with DD, and while I won't lie and say it's the easiest thing ever, it's SO worth it.  And really, adding a 2nd (or 3rd+) kid isn't ever going to be easy.  There are unique challenges and benefits to any spacing, kwim?  I love seeing my kids play together now and love that they're truly growing up together.

Ingot pregnant when DS was 7 months old! I was soooooo upset! Long story short, everything will be fine! It's tough but I think it's tough at any age and there's a ton if benefits to having them clode in age! When they get older they'll keep each other entertained and you'll love seeing them together!!!
  • Mine are 51 weeks apart.  You'll be fine - Don't stress.

  • You will be fine, promise!  My DDs are 12.5mo apart, plus a SN DS who was 2.5yrs when DD#2 was born.  We are surviving very well.  They get along great so far, although DD#1 can be pretty jealous at times.  No biggie.  She warms up to DD#2 more and more each day.

  • My baby daughter will be one on 7/7 and I am scheduled for a C-section on 7/15. My 11 month old is walking and getting into everything she can find. And I'm on bed rest. No fun! Lucky (very, very, lucky) for me is that I have my mom nearby. She comes over everyday and helps watch her and cook and clean. I don't know what I'd do without her. My advice is to ask for help when you need it, and accept it when it's offered ;)

    Hang in there, mama!
